There’s something special about a summer evening when time slows down. A glass of sparkling wine in hand, the sun dipping behind the trees, and that little detail that makes your drink more than just something refreshing.

At Corkframes, we love details that elevate the experience without adding hours in the kitchen – the kind of things that feel effortless, yet thoughtful. Citrus & Herb Ice Cubes are just that. A small addition that makes a big impact – in taste, in style, and in the moment.

These ice cubes are easy to prepare, beautiful to look at, and bring a fresh touch to any drink. Drop one into a glass of prosecco, cava, rosé or alcohol-free bubbly – and watch how something so simple can feel so refined.

And as always at Corkframes: when the evening turns into a memory, save the cork. Because every wine moment deserves a home.

Citrus & Herb Ice Cubes – The Recipe

You’ll need:
– 1 organic orange (blood orange for extra colour)
– Fresh herbs: lemon balm, mint or basil
– Large ice cube trays (preferably silicone)
– Water (boiled and cooled for clearer ice)

Instructions:

  1. Slice the orange thinly to create delicate, round slices.

  2. Place one slice in each compartment of the ice cube tray.

  3. Add a few fresh herb leaves – lemon balm for freshness, mint for coolness, or a small sprig of basil for a subtle twist.

  4. Fill with water. Use boiled and cooled water to keep the ice as clear as possible.

  5. Freeze overnight (or at least 6–8 hours).

Tip: Want even more flavour? Replace part of the water with citrus-infused tea or a splash of rosé wine.

How to use them

Serve in a wide glass with sparkling wine, gin & tonic, or your summer cocktail. These cubes add a hint of citrus and herbal aroma as they melt – while making the drink look stunning.

Perfect for:
– Garden parties
– Summer brunches
– A quiet Tuesday evening that deserves to feel like a Friday

When the bottle is empty and the laughter fades, save the cork. Place it in your Corkframe as a keepsake from that evening. Because sometimes it’s not the party itself, but the details – a citrus ice cube, a bottle of wine, a shared moment – that become the story you want to remember.
