When the sun is shining and temperatures rise, few things are as refreshing as a cold, fruity glass of white sangria. This sophisticated and invigorating twist on the classic Spanish beverage lets white wine take center stage, complemented by sun-ripened fruit and a hint of citrus.
How to Make the Perfect White Sangria
To create a well-balanced white sangria with just the right amount of freshness and fruitiness, we recommend using a dry, aromatic white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or Verdejo. Combine it with fresh fruit, a splash of orange liqueur, and sparkling water for a light, bubbly touch.
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle of dry white wine
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 green apple, diced
- 1 handful of fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries)
- 1 sprig of mint for freshness
- 5 cl orange liqueur (e.g., Cointreau)
- 2–3 dl sparkling water or lemon-lime soda
- Ice cubes
Instructions:
- Place the fruit in a large pitcher and pour in the wine and orange liqueur.
- Let it chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour to allow the flavors to blend.
- Just before serving, add the sparkling water and plenty of ice.
- Garnish with mint and serve in large glasses.
Want to take the experience to the next level? Pair your sangria with a light summer dish—perhaps fresh ceviche, a cheese platter, or seafood. And remember, every cork from a shared bottle of wine is a memory worth saving in a Corkframe.
Cheers to the best wine experiences of the summer!
