Tips for Perfect Baked Potatoes
Choose large, floury potatoes for a fluffy texture.
Bake the potatoes directly on the oven rack for a firmer skin.
Avoid wrapping them in foil if you want a classic baked potato texture. Foil traps moisture and makes the potato more steamed than baked.
Prepare the fillings in advance. Creamy fillings often taste better after some time in the fridge.
Serve with a green salad, pickled red onion, fresh herbs or toasted seeds for extra freshness.
Why Baked Potatoes Are Great for Entertaining
Baked potatoes are practical when cooking for several people. The potatoes can be baked in advance and kept warm, while the fillings can be prepared earlier the same day.
Place different fillings on the table and let guests choose their favourite. It is simple, generous and works well for garden parties, buffets, family dinners and casual summer gatherings.
