A wild strawberry spritz with a taste of spring
Wild strawberries bring a soft, fruity flavor that works beautifully in a light and refreshing spritz. Combined with lemon, sparkling wine and soda water, the result is an elegant drink with a clear feeling of spring and early summer.
Wild strawberry spritz recipe
Ingredients, 1 glass
4 cl wild strawberry syrup or wild strawberry purée
9 cl dry sparkling wine
3 cl soda water
2 cl freshly squeezed lemon juice
Ice
A few fresh wild strawberries for garnish
Mint or lemon balm
A slice of lemon
How to make it
Fill a large wine glass with ice.
Pour in the wild strawberry syrup or purée and the lemon juice.
Add the sparkling wine and top with soda water.
Stir gently to keep the bubbles.
Garnish with fresh wild strawberries, a slice of lemon and mint or lemon balm.
How to keep the flavor balanced
Use a dry sparkling wine to keep the drink fresh and light. If the wild strawberry syrup is sweet, add a little more lemon juice for balance. Plenty of ice also helps keep the drink crisp and refreshing.
Non-alcoholic wild strawberry spritz
It is easy to make a non-alcoholic version by replacing the sparkling wine with alcohol-free sparkling wine.
