Three Wines from Burgundy to Discover
Burgundy is one of France’s most famous wine regions. It is best known for white wines made from Chardonnay and red wines made from Pinot Noir, but the region also produces sparkling Crémant de Bourgogne.
Some of Burgundy’s most prestigious wines can be very expensive, but there are also more accessible options. Regional Burgundy wines and Crémant de Bourgogne offer a good introduction to the area and its different wine styles.
Here are three wines that represent different sides of Burgundy. The flavour descriptions, prices and serving recommendations are based on current product information.
1. Louis Bouillot Crémant de Bourgogne Brut
Style: Dry sparkling wine
Price: SEK 149
Product number: 768801
Serving temperature: Around 8°C
Louis Bouillot Crémant de Bourgogne Brut is a fresh sparkling wine with flavours of red apple, peach, grapefruit and biscuit. It works well as an aperitif or alongside fish and shellfish.
Food Pairing Suggestions
prawns, crayfish and oysters
fried fish or tempura
salty snacks
mild hard cheeses
charcuterie
The fresh acidity and bubbles pair particularly well with salty and fried dishes. Avoid very sweet accompaniments, as they can make the wine taste sharper.
2. Bourgogne Les Murelles Domaine Roux 2023

Grape: Chardonnay
Price: SEK 199
Product number: 583701
Serving temperature: 10–12°C
Bourgogne Les Murelles Domaine Roux is a full-bodied and fresh white wine with noticeable oak influence. Its flavour profile includes green apple, lemon, peach, nuts, browned butter, herbs and mineral notes.
It may appeal to those who enjoy a richer style of Chardonnay, where fresh acidity balances buttery and nutty flavours.
Food Pairing Suggestions
pan-fried cod or pike-perch
salmon with herb sauce
chicken with creamy mushroom sauce
mushroom risotto
seafood pasta
creamy cheeses
The acidity helps balance cream and butter, while the oak character works well with roasted, fried and oven-baked ingredients.

Style: Red wine
Grape: Pinot Noir
Price: SEK 199
Product number: 7861401

Jean-Claude Boisset Bourgogne Pinot Noir Les Ursulines is a fruit-driven and lightly spiced red wine with notes of raspberry, lingonberry, strawberry, herbs, nutmeg, blood orange and oak.

chicken or turkey

How to Serve Wine from Burgundy
Serve Crémant de Bourgogne at around 8°C. White Burgundy is usually best at 10–12°C, while red Burgundy should be served slightly chilled at 14–16°C.
Wine that is served too cold can lose aroma and flavour. Red Burgundy served too warm may instead lose freshness and appear more alcoholic.
Use generously sized wine glasses to allow the aromas to develop.
