In the charming village of Puyloubier, nestled on the sun-kissed slopes of Montagne Sainte-Victoire, lies La Place – Bistrot Responsable – a restaurant where sustainability, flavor, and quality come together in perfect harmony.

Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and lavender fields, this is a place that captures the true essence of Provence: local ingredients, honest craftsmanship, and deep respect for nature’s rhythm.

Puyloubier is one of the region’s most picturesque villages, located about 400 meters above sea level with panoramic views of the Provençal countryside and the iconic Sainte-Victoire mountain, famously painted by Cézanne. Life here moves at a slower pace, rooted in tradition and community – values that form the foundation of La Place’s philosophy.

The restaurant operates on a simple yet powerful principle: quality over quantity, local over imported, sustainability over speed. The menu changes with the seasons, and every supplier – from farmers to winemakers – is chosen for their commitment to responsible production and genuine taste.

My dinner became a journey through the flavors of Provence – pure, thoughtful, and full of character.

Starter – Clair de Lune
A delicate puff pastry tart with aubergine caviar, goat cheese mousse infused with Espelette pepper, and a touch of sweetness from Solliès figs. A beautifully balanced dish where each ingredient tells its own story of the region.

Main Course – Blé Ancien
A creamy “risotto” made with ancient grain petit épeautre, enhanced with pumpkin and roasted vegetables. A humble yet refined dish that perfectly reflects La Place’s belief in simplicity and integrity.

Dessert – Notre Tarte Citron
A re-imagined lemon tart with cocoa shortbread, lemon mousse, lemon curd, chocolate tuile, and meringue. Light, elegant, and beautifully crafted – a fitting finale to a meal that celebrates both artistry and balance.

At La Place – Bistrot Responsable, sustainability isn’t a trend but a daily practice. Organic ingredients, minimal waste, and close relationships with local producers shape every decision. The result is food that feels as good as it tastes – authentic, nourishing, and deeply connected to its origin.

La Place – Bistrot Responsable is a reminder that the future of gastronomy lies in authenticity, responsibility, and a genuine love for the land.
