Wachau is not only famous for its wines – it is also home to the Wachauer Marille, one of Europe’s most flavorful apricots. Thanks to Wachau’s unique climate along the Danube, the fruit develops a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. Only apricots grown in the region can carry the protected designation of origin (g.g.A.) Wachauer Marille.

Wachau Marillenfest – A Festival for Apricots

Every July, Wachau Marillenfest celebrates the harvest of the region’s famous apricots. The festival, held in Spitz an der Donau, features everything from traditional pastries and jams to handcrafted spirits and liqueurs.

Drinks Made from Wachauer Marille
