A Brief History of the Old Fashioned

The Old Fashioned is a timeless cocktail that combines simplicity with sophistication, enjoying popularity across generations.

The Old Fashioned is considered one of the oldest cocktails in the world. Its origins trace back to the early 1800s, when "cocktail" was defined as a mix of spirit, sugar, water, and bitters.

The name "Old Fashioned" began to appear in the late 19th century, as bar patrons requested a cocktail made in the "old-fashioned way." The recipe we know today was popularized at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York and has since remained a symbol of elegance and class.

The Old Fashioned saw a resurgence in the 2010s, thanks in part to the TV series Mad Men, where the main character, Don Draper, frequently ordered the drink. It’s a cocktail that celebrates tradition while offering a sophisticated flavor experience.
